The Sex Pistols were a truly great band in that they formed, made a good deal of noise, annoyed the establishment then imploded spectacularly after releasing one record. Then they had to spoil it and come back more times than Madness and Status Quo put together. But you may as well enjoy it for what it is. The Pistols have reformed once again for a one off gig at Brixton Academy on November 8th.
This will be their first show since 2003.
"Maybe it's because we're all Londoners," said LA resident John Lydon - formerly Johnny Rotten, "but there would be no Sex Pistols without dear old London town. See you all at Brixton with proper feelings and proper people all around. From London Bridge to The Rose And Crown, all of Britain is welcome so come on down."
So there are some burning questions...
Is that the Rose and Crown in Stoke Newington? Which Rose and Crown is he refering to?
Should bands reform?
Should bands beat each other to death with hammers like notorious Norwegian black metal band Mayhem?
Are you nearly as fucking sick of hearing people go on about Prince as you are the McCanns?
Is somebody who hasn't brought out a decent single in 15 years worthy of such adulation?
Is Glenn Matlock a twot or what?
