The Great Rock 'n' Roll Dwindle

There's something Rotten in the state of England. More Sex Pistols shows, that's what. The band will play an extra show at Brixton Academy on 12th November and one in Manchester on the 17th, due to "overwhelming demand" or some such spin.

The gig in Manchester will be the first the group have played in 30 years. The last time they played there apparently everyone from Manchester went including Tony Wilson, Joy Division, Happy Mondays, Stone Roses, Northern Uproar... Were they from Manchester? Don't think so. They would have all been about three as well. Anyway, everyone went, and then everyone formed a band, and then music was changed forever. That's not gonna happen this time though. Everyone is already in a band.

The Sex Pistols once played the Winter Gardens in Penzance. It closed down in 1989 and still sits on the seafront unchanged, like the Marie Celeste. If I'm down for Christmas I might break in for a laugh.
