Alex James has admitted his hopes Blur would get back together in the immediate future have been somewhat dashed after the band met for lunch earlier in the week.
"Rumours of a new Blur record have been greatly exaggerated," he lamented, "but that lunch happened yesterday."
He added, after a charming story about a cabbie in his Great Escape column in The Independent, "lunch was nice. It was just lunch. There are no immediate plans to go in the studio, but they all liked my cheese."
