They Came From The Stars, I Saw Them's Horton Jupiter has recently been compromising his integrity by purchasing a KitKat, The Sun, Britney Spears' perfume and other such icons of apocalyptic moral decay, but all for a good cause mind - a contribution to a new track on electronic artist Matthew Herbert's new album.

The track will presumably share the name of the project: 'Make Some Noise', and aims to prove that music is still a viable medium for protest, in this case, specifically, protest against Murdoch's media monopoly, The Catholic Church, and consumer culture, amongst other things.

The track was recorded in the British Museum and you can read all about the fascinating process right here on Horton's blog.

Oh, and if anyone else is thoroughly confused by the referrences to Paul Giovanni, they are not concerning the writer of The Wicker Man soundtrack who died of AIDS in 1990, but a different Paul Giovanni.
