Playlouder - Music is the Network

Do you like woods? Do you like naked people? Then you'll love the new video by Sigur Rós, which chiefly involves naked people running around in the woods. (They may be Icelandic, but if they are, please remember, they're still people.)

It's called 'Gobbledigook'. You see what they've done there?

If you were into Sigur Rós before Brad Pitt, you may remember their sweeping, epic post rock soundscapes, and you may have seen their loony front dude singing into his guitar onstage at one of their fantabulous live shows.

If you missed that sweet early period you may be more aware of their somewhat crappy radio-friendly moments of sprawling twee bullshit; it's sort of like the puppy's grown up, it's no longer Christmas, there's crap on your staircase, you live quite near an abandoned well - that sort of thing.

However, having just listened to new song 'Gobbledigook' sans video, I'm really rather liking it. There's drums and everything.

You could even say, it's got balls. (Bud-dum).

The new album, 'Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust' (English translation: 'With a buzz in our ears we play endlessly'), is out on June 23rd.
