About three months ago when I heard Glasvegas' best song ('Geraldine') was being released as a single I excreted fluids from several orifices at once (metaphorically speaking) in my excitement.
The single itself was amazing, and although inferior to the demo, as I astutely noted, "The good news [was] that it’s simply impossible to suffocate the glorious power of this song with such a paltry thing as an huge pile of cash".
Somebody at Columbia must have heard me, because they've really done their best to screw over 'Daddy's Gone'. They've really tried to sap the life out of this one, fuck up the production, which was not broken and needed no fixing, and ruin the visuals with a kinda naff video which isn't nearly as moving as the original self-financed one.
And yet, they have still failed, for Glasvegas remain mightier than the puppetmaster fools who tangle their strings (assuming it's somebody else and not them). Also, that dude looks so much like Joe Strummer it ain't funny:
