Volbeat - 'Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood'

You think Elvis Presley und Metallica don't fit?

You're totally wrong!

The best evidence is 'Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood' - new album of the Danish' Volbeat...

Volbeat might be one of the most inventive band of the 21st century by combining trash-metal-riffs like Metallica with a catchy rock'n'roll voice, originated somewhere between Elvis Presley and Life Of Agony, and joining some Johnny-Cash-vibes. This diversified but unrivaled style benefits Volbeat to address a wide-ranging audience...

The Danish four-peace was founded in 2002 by frontman Michael Poulsen (Guitar & Vocals), a former member of the band Dominus. Volbeat also includes Jon Larsen (Drums), Anders Kjølholm (Bass) and Thomas Bredahl (Guitar).

The band already released three demos - 'Volbeat', 2002 and 'Beat the Meat', 2003 and 'Soulweeper', 2003 - and two albums - 'The Strength/The Sound/The Songs', 2005 and 'Rock The Rebel / Metal The Devil ', 2007 - through Rebel Monster Records (Mascot Records).

On September 1, their third album 'Guitar Gansters & Cadillac Blood' was released, that ties in with their second album 'Rock The Rebel / Metal The Devil' (album of the year of the German Metal Hammer). It includes acceleration-showpieces like 'Back To Prom', 'Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood' or 'Maybellene I Hofteholder' that closed a circle from the Swinging Sixties till today without using any kind of kitchy nostalgia... 12 metal-rock'n'roll clacker with melodik lines plus a cover of Hank Williams classic 'I'm So Lonely I Could Cry' and a cover of Social Distortion's 'Making Believe'!

Volbeat, I take my hat off to you, "this is ELVIS-metal."
