Das Wanderlust - Puzzle

If, like me, it's been some time since you saw or heard some genuinely DIY sounding (as opposed to flat-pack) punked-up nervous energy squawking at you from behind a keyboard then you'll probably be pretty grateful for the presence of Das Wanderlust.

Their website reveals there are an indeterminate number of them and that their favoured term for their music is 'wrong-pop'. To my ears, it sounds like the ladyfest-type bands that I recall seeing squashed onto tiny stages in my university years in those niche nights for lovers of early 90s riot grrrl acts and the non-soppy side of grunge

There wasn't much call for it back then, so it was sad to see a few promising bands amongst their number fall off the radar as the years dripped by. Hopefully for Das Wanderlust, (and for their fans, amongst whom I may well come to count myself), the time is nigh for their fresh and frenetic noises to burst the eardrums of the collective public once more. New single 'Puzzle' (along with the even more endearing slapdash b-sides you can hear on their MySpace - I recommend 'Sea Shanty') indicates they've a playful experimental inclination too, informed by the skewed side of modern indie rock.

And they have dancing ghosts in the video. Look. What could be better than that?
