Will there be a neck-and-neck-race between Guns N'Roses frontman Axl Rose and former guitarist Slash? Who will release his new album first?? Axl, who already worked on 'Chinese Democracy' for about 15 years or current Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash who reveals plans for a solo album?

Slash announced that he already demoed 14 songs for the solo release but isn't sure whether the album would be released before the next Velvet Revolver album. "I've been carrying a tape recorder with me on the Velvet Revolver tour and putting down ideas, " Slash explained. "When I got back from the UK at the beginning of the summer listenend to what was cool on them, then elaborated and came up with new stuff."

Besides this, the guitarist is set to release a series of new guitars, the Gibson and Epiphone Les Paul Goldtop range, on October 7...

so... it appears to be that Slash isn't lazy those days.. What will Axl - working on one album for 15 years now - what will he think about that?
