Amon Amarth - Twilight of The Thunder God

Hark!

I may be the first (I may be the 23rd) to complain about over-enthusiastic metal mag journalists who trumpet every release by their favourites as being more of the same and therefore an entirely brilliant and necessary thing. I'm starting to tire of Dragonforce, I find it difficult to get into Mótórhead (oops - didn't mean to do that accent, sorry Lemmy), and I think Iron Maiden's first album is by far their best.

Having said all that, every time Amon Amarth announce a new album, let alone a new video, I get all weak at the knees and begin to wet myself in anticipation. It's fortunate this usually happens int he comfort of my own home, I suppose.

What follows is very much the usual thunder-clap of epic riffs, thundering drums and thunderous gnarly vocals that make Amon Amarth the all-time best melodic-death-metal viking-themed band ever. Volume one. Also, this is their biggest-budget video yet by the looks of things. It has real fighting!

By Thor's beard, this is a mighty song.
