Playlouder - Music is the Network

There’s so much someone who’s vicious and mean (hello) can do with a name like Unknown Component. I mean, what component could be unknown in their work? Talent? Excitement? Taste? Anything that’s interesting? But to me it seems like putting the boot in isn’t the right thing to do, because they don’t even sound like a proper band.

They sound like a local band who’ve put posters up around town to advertise their gig at the pub down the road. A group of kids that’ve only just started out, who haven’t written any good songs yet and aren’t very confident about performing.

It ‘s Strokes like garage rock but with no guile. Maybe with a bit of enthusiasm the weaker material could’ve at least sounded exciting, but it doesn’t. And the lyrics are best left unmentioned.

Either they’ve got a lot of growing to do, or they should consider sticking to their day jobs.
