Getting caught with an army's worth of guns sure did help T.I.'s creativity.
After being placed under house arrest earlier this year, the rapper sat down and wrote an album, using a pen, which he hadn't done for ages cos he was doing that "off the dome" thing everyone claims to do since Jay-Z got big.
Today that album, Paper Trail, is sat snugly atop the US album charts. And his new single, Live Your Life, has just replaced his last single, Whatever You Like, at the top of the singles charts.
Live Your Life jumped all the way from number 80, making it the fastest chart ascension in US chart history, breaking the record set by, um, T.I., a few months ago when Whatever You Like rocketed to the top from number 71.
Not necessarily a good omen. Remember when that started happening in the UK? The charts went shit. Watch out, Yanks.
