Playlouder - Music is the Network

Yes, I remember It's Jo and Danny. Quite fondly as it happens. Long before they'd established the Green Man Festival as one of the top summer events in the diary of UK music fans and hippies alike, these two unashamed tree-huggers were pottering around the country in a hatchback playing beautiful songs with two guitars and a mini-disk to rooms full, or half full, of starry-eyed admirers.

They were modestly successful, but never a powerful force in any scene and often, inexplicably, condemned by the cool for being a bit twee, while faux-intellectual folk of a decidedly wetter nature (Belle and Sebastian, notably) did fine by critics and charts alike.

It feels like they've been away for years - but that's not actually true. Their last album was out in 2005, and Internet rumour has it that they are reborn and awaiting a new release under the new name of The Yellow Moon Band this November on Static Caravan Records.

But that's all in the present. Here, today, (for some reason), is a slice of their pretty past in the form of a video for horse-celebrating-ditty, 'Arkle': one of the jauntier numbers off their debut masterpiece, 2000's 'Lank Haired Girl To Bearded Boy'.
