Seven minute single? Way to go guys: I can see that being played on Jonathan Ross.
I'm still not totally sure what to make of these guys, but on this release at least, their blend of jangly yet menacing folk guitars and truly bizarre lyrics delivered Lloyd's languid, well-spoken tones make for a powerful combination.
There's an 18 minute version on the forthcoming album that may clear things up, or - which is more likely - make things yet murkier.
Sample lines:
"Now medicated gum clots the streets / And disregarded fun sticks to the soles of my feet / And some of the buildings around me are on fire."
Pretty creepy stuff. Oh, and there's a video. You just have to check this out. If you just stare at the tentacle (or whatever it is) for the full seven minutes you will hardly notice anything change! (No cheating and using the fastforward thing now).
Out on Hau Ruck as of yesterday (but not, as far as I can see, available on their website so good luck buying it!), this is 'Go Grow', courtesy of Naevus:
