What is it with popstar flu at the moment? First of all it was Michael Jackson fussing off a court case with the sniffles, now REM have had to cancel a gig after one of their number was rushed to hospital. On Monday night, February 21st, REM's bassist Mike Mills was rushed to hospital during their performance in Sheffield. Tonight's gig in Glasgow has also been cancelled.
While us poor ordinary mortals simply sit at home with a bottle of whiskey and Bargain Hunt when we're ill, Mills has been given fancy treatment and is "resting" in hospital because he could "hardly stand up, let alone play,".
The band would approach the remainder of the tour on a "day-to-day basis".
