The future of "the best Gypsy band in London" is now in doubt, after head Cock Ludas Matyi sacked the rest of the band.
A rift between the male and female members of the outfit developed after the Cock's debut single ('Love Somebody Yes I Do', released through FGZ/RCA today) suffered repeated release date re-shufflings, resulting in RCA reconsidering their and the band's future. The band failed to play what would have been their last gig with the original line-up at London's HQ club on Friday, although the girls turned up to watch replacement band Desman.
Following the resignation of the Cocks' manager Adrian Boss last week, a crisis meeting was called, wherein Matyi sacked rappers Princess Molly, Cha Cha D'amoure and DJ Kinky.
Matyi is believed to be auditioning for new members, while the girls are set to work with a mystery Danish techno producer on a "5ive-esque hip-hop anthem". PlayLouder will publish statements from both parties later today.
