The split factions of The Fighting Cocks have been speaking to PlayLouder about the band's break up, and both offer very different sides of the story.
As reported here earlier in the week, Ludas Matyi and DJ Assassin remain from the original line up, following the departure of Princess Molly, Kinky and Cha Cha D'Amour. PlayLouder reported that the girls were sacked over a row about their position with RCA. However, Matyi offers a different perspective:
"I never sacked no-one," he told PlayLouder, "Molly and Cha Cha left the band in a strop three weeks ago, saying they could do better, and they had the hump with me cos I won't sell the publishing rights and won't do as I'm told by RCA or Adrian Boss, who wanted to be my manager. I still wanted Kinky, but that's not gonna happen now, is it? Anyway, after two weeks they decide it's OK to have me back in the band, etc etc. But I'm not being treated like that." The golden Szeki Kurva (Ludas' previous band) rule is, if you leave, you can never come back.
"Anyway," he continued, "there IS a full line up, always will be, and the next gigs are the West Country Tour, then Uncle Bob's Wedding Reception, then Camden Palace. These will also feature mystery DJ Dan!"
He also added the following warning to all doubters: "I am evil. and I have come to fuck up the entire music industry."
Molly, who along with Cha Cha and Kinky is now working with a mystery Danish Techno producer told us today: "We were as good as sacked. He made it unbearable for us to remain in the band. He wanted his girlfreiend, who had been trying to get us kicked out for ages back in the band so he made us quit and she is now, as she always wanted, part of the line up. Good luck to them." Speaking about her new project Molly said: "Basically, we always wanted to take over the world, but Ludas was only bothered about taking over Essex. Now we're gonna be bigger than 5ive. So there."
