God Save Yer Pocket Money

The Sex Pistols will, as was inevitable, re-release 'God Save The Queen' this year. It will be out on May 27th and you will all sell your gran's dog for a copy.
The song originally came out in 1977 right up the arse of the Queen's Silver Jubilee, and rocketed to number one where it didn't actually get recognised as such cos the chart compilers shat themselves, or something. This year the single won't coincide with the Jubilee but it will be slightly different, as Leftfield have remixed it, and as the best thing they ever did was 'Open Up', we shall look forward. As opposed to backward, which hurts your neck after a while.
Golden Jubilee Day June 3rd will see the release of a boxed set of the Pistols' back catalogue, which is a laugh. Bassist Glen Matlock said predictably enough, "This will make my bank manager happy. I think with the charts clogged up with acts such as Hear'Say it's time the Sex Pistols returned." There's every possibility the Pistols will reform again and play live and stuff and make their bank managers even happier. Yes there is.
