Yes you horrible lot, a mere three days late, and almost in the right order, here are your lukewarm UK chart update things, I wish you would like them. (NB This news story contains no viruses, or if it does they can be treated with antibiotics, thank you *£"[]$ etc)
Will Young's fucking egregious cover of 'Light My Fire' went to number one on Sunday, scaling new heights of bewildering unsexiness. Hey ho. But at least we were spared having any one of a squillion footy 'anthems' (sniff snort) at the top, although they did sneak in by the slimeload. There were Ant & Dec (3), DJ Otzi ugh yurgh (10), Bell & Spurling ('Goldenballs - Mr Beckham To You' yurgh yuk at 25), England Boys (26) (yawn), Dario G (34) and rum hum hum and a bottle of ho Babe Team (45). Sigh. Meanwhile the Pistols' 'God Save The Queen' in its crappily remixed form went in at 15 and made us all convert to gawd-bless-er patriotism and throw out all our clothes that weren't red white or blue. Ozzy Osbourne went in at 18 and made us even more bemused about this whole rock/royalty crossover, frankly.
Orbital went in at 33 cheers cheers cheers, and poor wee Asher D went in at 43 with 'Why Me?' which amounts to a better rhyme than he's ever...ahem. Adam F and M.O.P got in at 50 which is a bit of a poor show, innit?
