A complaint has been upheld with regards to an oh so bloody controversial yet really unfortunately timed broadcasting of the Sex Pistols' 25 year old 'God Save The Queen', PlayLouder is mildly amused to hear.
Virgin Radio played the re-released song in April, which might have been OK were it not for the fact that moments before there had been a sombre news item about the death of the Queen Mum. Tact, Cedric. The Radio Authority has upheld a complaint about this oops, although the station has said "honest guv it were all pre-recorded and we didn't know and it weren't on purpose or nuffink". And they've said sorry.
By the way the telly watchdogs received 120 complaints about that incredibly tasteless and tragic mega-burger ad with the kid playing his divorced parents off against each other so as to increase his chances of one day developing heart disease due to too many mega-burgers. And to that we say "good".
Anyway, the Sex Pistols play Crystal Palace in London Town tomorrow, supported by the likes of The Rapture, The Libertines and Trail Of Dead. We bet you our umpteenth 'Pistols Best Of' that this will be the last time the bastards agree to share a stage. Ever.
