Hot Chip had a Zune - Microsoft have it to them because EMI put their video on it

I fiddled with it a bit - I think the general consensus was that it was not worth hacking, even with the wifi

I love the idea of the Zune, it's so Microsoft: let's copy the iPod, turn the screen round the wrong way, make the controller look like a scroll wheel but not work like one, turn it brown and hobble the single innovative feature. Oh, why's it not selling?

It's not a problem, it never hurt The Dooby Brothers being on 8 track

Did you ever see SanDisk's risible "iDont" campaign whose sole premise was that the iPod is bad because it's popular?

iriver did something similar - be a rebel, use windows drm!

    but are they laughing now?

But customers love DRM! It lets them use their music on any device - er, unless it's not one of the devices that supports one of Microsoft's random carousel of new DRM marketplaces

Looks like Gates & Co. are also facing another $900,000-plus lawsuit for their shitty Office software fucking up web browsers so it's not surprising they come out with a carbon-copy mp3 player in order to dupe consumers to make up for their settlement losses. I personally can't see any other reason on why they'd push such a piece of shit player with a marketing campaign (at least in America) that also mimics the iClod. "Zune" yeah say it out loud a few times and never will it become a household name. The iClod for the desperate non-conformist asshole who seriously believes Micro$oft actually can make a decent product.

Here's something not a lot of people know: The only Microsoft products lines ever to have made a profit, ever, are DOS, Windows and Office. Every single other product loses money.
