Weren't GoF massive socialists in their heydey? (The lyrics to most of the songs on 'Entertainment' would suggest so).
Therefore, I was a little surprised when I found out the other day that Jon King is now the CEO of an rather large advertising agency.
Having grown up with music from that era and always having thought of GoF as a bit of a joke I was a little surprised to see them return early 2000s to be hailed as the lords of all everything
Also I like how every band is citing them as a major influence but "no one is making music like them". The mind boggles!

I believe it's a publishing company he runs, not an advertising agency! Sven, I think they mean no-one's making anything *quite* like it - many bands have tried to emulate their sound but Gang of Four are...well, Gang of Four. Their performance at Royal Festival Hall was incredible.
aah ok
I am still a massive fan of them, in any case
it's weird though - i saw them do the 'don't look back' show at the barbican
and the audience is always so reverential at those things, it kinda detracted from it a bit
still, am planning to go to offset, so hopefully the atmnosphere there will be better!
Right, so I'm not allowed to be pedantic anymore? Great. Thanks.
Still... I'd go as far as... well, at least Belgium to see Chrome Hoof
