For the sake of pedantry, and because I've finally got 'round to listening to this album, Henry was involved, collaboratively, on
lyrics: Half in Love With Elizabeth, Veiled in Grey, (the two best lyrics on the album, though both co-written with his son, Blaine Harrison), MJ, The First to Know
music: Half in Love With Elizabeth, Behind The Bunhouse
and Hand Me Down is mysteriously (sloppily) credited to 'Harrison' as well as Rees.
It's better than I first thought and HILWL and ViG are particularly good. But I can't help but think of it as a regressive step when compared to the first album. It soungs like a singles collection, not an album, and eschews much of the experimentation with sound that 'Making Dens' thrived on.

not heard the new album - but the singles have been fun - thus adding kudos to your statement re this being a singles collection.
also - tried to tag earlier - but it broke svensir so ta for starting the ball rolling
that's okay, I had a similar experience yesterday. Still seems to depend what computer you're on
and yeah I love both singles so far, and to be honest, pretty much every track on the album in it's own right. I just find it fatiguing as a whole. I think my expectations were unrealistically high, but it's still a good album, and they're definitely a band worth watching (live or otherwise)
rub it in. i wont be there until saturday .. when the bloody maccabees are headlining. i actually think the origanisers have missed a trick with the scheduling. the friday set are far far better than the saturday line up.
dude. exactly the same happened to me at Dour - missed Mystery Jets, Neon Neon, Whitest Boy Alive, Teenagers... bah

well the 'stery jets cancelled their performance @ standon calling due to illness (as did long range/phil orbital - humph), though apparently they were loitering around the festival on saturday - not that i'd have recognised them. full write on its way.
