Hullo all. My iPod has run out of juice so I'm using the PlayLouder music bit as a radio. Now, I'm sick at looking at that sodding pixies thing, and my creaky machine and ancient browser means I can't search properly. Can people make some good recommendations of things that are on here that I might like to listen to?

the hidden cameras? I got all their back catalogue that I was missing off here last week, and am enjoying them greatly. Searching by label for Rough Trade or Matador unearths some quality stuff too...

Yeah I got all the good stuff off rough trade, but unfortunately none of the REALLY good stuff from the 70s/early 80s is there. I used to like Hidden Cameras, but got a bit bored of them of late.

  • 12:51, 03 Aug 2007
    timctimc

    @ Goncalo

    melissa.fehrmelissa.fehr

You can talk about artists even if they don't have music, though!

  • 12:58, 03 Aug 2007
    timctimc

aah no, the drop down includes artists without music - we need 'stub' artists and releases so people can write / chat about them even when there's no music available

  • 12:58, 03 Aug 2007
    timctimc

it'd be nice to filter by with music / without music though

ooh, adam green, that's a good one

  • 14:48, 03 Aug 2007

I'm not massively into Adam Green. He's alright, but not suitable for an afternoon of fiddling with small virtual boxes. I need something evil

actually, I'm listening to the White Heat podcast that's on the Dazed site. More proof they're the most diverse little label around these days (and not just because I'm biased)http://www.dazedgroup.com/mediaplayer/default.aspx?m=listen&a=673

I hated Mouldy Peaches, but I love Adam Green on his own.

Well, I have a new favourite Television Personalities song now, the version of Sad Mona Lisa on here is very nice.

  • 12:08, 06 Aug 2007
    melissa.fehrmelissa.fehr

Is destroyers a new pornographers side project then? I didn't know that...

  • 15:18, 06 Aug 2007
    goncalo.pereiragoncalo.pereira

yes, i saw him with wolf eyes a few years back around here.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destroyer_%28band%29

    manish.agarwalmanish.agarwal

    you mean Wolf Parade!

New Pornographers, Destroyer, Sunset Rubdown and Swan Lake are all inter-related

  • 16:27, 06 Aug 2007
    manish.agarwalmanish.agarwal

Frog Eyes and Wolf Parade too

    but not Wolf Eyes

  • 16:32, 06 Aug 2007
    luke.turnerluke.turner

I thought them with Wolf Eyes was an odd combination. RE. No Age - a lot of people have been recommending that album to me and saying I'd love it. Gave it a really good going over at the weekend, and I must say I don't get it at all. Sounds too scratchy, self-aware American hipster noise to me. Very disappointing.

    goncalo.pereiragoncalo.pereira

i meant i saw him on tour with frog eyes... haven't seen wolf parade yet, i think this was before even there was wolf parade.
