The line up on the Bandstand is:

Milk Kan

http://www.myspace.com/milkthekan

Steve Lamaq calls them the 'new wave of perceptive busking'. Social commentary mounted on a canvas of postmodern musical reference we say. The next single's got Dolly Parton in it for fucks sake! Genius.

David Viner

http://www.myspace.com/mrdavidviner

A new album produced by Ed Harcourt, tours with the White Stripes and Spiritualized. Mr. Viner has credentials, as well as a quiver of fine folk-blues songs. Profound and affecting, the Guardian called his recent single 'Go Home' 'The most pleasingly woe begone song You've heard in ages'.

The Bobby McGees

http://www.myspace.com/thebobbymcgees

Folk marvels The Bobby McGees have been touted as 'one of the most exciting bands around today with their inspired ukulele-loaded tweecore' (Rough Trade) and "domestic violence with ukuleles" (totally bored). She's a first -class graduate of philosophy, he's a homeless Glaswegian tyke, together they make the greatest wild and abrasive anti-folk the corporate dollar can't buy.

Kevin Tuffy

http://www.myspace.com/kevintuffy

Immense folk tales, lyrics powerfully jarring and exposed, and expertly crafted, but then, what did you expect from a man who has collaborated with British lyrical luminaries as eminent and diverse as Laura Marling, Thom Stone and Sway.

Freddie Stevenson

http://www.myspace.com/freddiestevenson

A glorious songwriter of the highest calibre, two fantastic albums, a US tour and SXSW appearance. Heart felt, whimsical and wistful tales of love and learning. A quintesentially English gentleman... from Scotland.

David Goo

http://www.myspace.com/davidgoo

North London's answer to Frank Zappa David Goo is a master of the musical acid trip. He writes songs about shops that sell limbs, little piggies and insect parties invading his house. He has spent the summer playing all the major festivals and Europe to boot, what better way to round it off than a slot at the biggest small festival in London on the 31st August.

Handshake

http://www.myspace.com/handshakemusicuk

Jigging trio Handshake write with traditional barn-storming tunes that canter through your mind like a phalanx of regal cavalry. They've busked with Billy Brag and even played at Stonehenge on the summer solstice, you don't get better folk credentials than that! Socially conscious parables that we'd do well to heed.

Bring a picnic!
